libproc-daemon-perl software package provides module for running scripts as daemons, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libproc-daemon-perl
libproc-daemon-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libproc-daemon-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libproc-daemon-perl *
You will get with libproc-daemon-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
